Volcano Garden Arts
The Gallery In The Village
Gallery Description:
Volcano Garden Arts is well worth a stop when you’re enroute to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The farmhouse-turned-gallery, built long ago of California redwood brought to the area by ship, rail and then horse-drawn wagon, sits tucked within the rainforest of Volcano Village.
In addition to visiting one of the most eclectic art and crafts galleries you’ll ever see, you can also fortify yourself at its vegetarian Café Ono.
The gallery’s small, rambling rooms are packed full of major works by local artists of renown, tiny inexpensive collectibles, and everything in between. The interesting collection includes glass-blown pieces, wood and metal work, ceramics, masks, jewelry, books and household items – an extensive collection of local artists’ work that’s fun to browse. There couldn’t be more ambiance, and the owner, artist Ira Ono, is a delight.
