Friends Of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (FHNP) is the official philanthropic partner to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a 501c3.
FHNP operates under a formal agreement with the park service.
Proceeds from your excursion supports park programs and projects.
Our Programs
Wild Cave Exploration
Our "Wild Cave Exploration" is a guided tour through a tropical rainforest and descends into a pristine lava tube. Led by our expert scientists and naturalists, you will have the experience of a lifetime to "Pua Po'o Lava Tube." This lava tube is restricted by Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and FHVNP has been granted exclusive access to this natural wonder by the National Park Service.
Due to the fragile nature of this precious lava tube The Wild Cave Program is only available once a week and is limited up to 12 persons in a group. Children under the age of 12 are prohibited.
Institute On Demand
"Institute On Demand" features our award winning private tours that allows your group (of any size) to create your own custom designed private tour! Just let us know your group’s itinerary, activity level, and interests, and we’ll create a personalized adventure just for you!
We normally provide 4, 6 and 8 hour tours. We also provide multi-day tours ranging between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
Our guides feature seasoned geologists, volcanologists, retired park rangers, botanists, photographers, and wildlife biologists.
The difficulty levels our our tours range anywhere from a moderate to extreme hikes.
Photo Excursions
Our photo tours feature famed photographers for their work in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This tour features scenes with geology, tropical rainforests, old and new lava flows, cultural and historical locations and much more!
